A Good Vanity Supplier: How to Deal with the Defective Products?

The definition of defective bathroom cabinets requires a comprehensive evaluation from four dimensions: appearance, structure, functionality, material compliance. The specific standards are as follows:

1. Appearance defects

Appearance defects include surface defects, color texture, size errors and other defects visible to the naked eye. Bathroom cabinets have defects such as particles, roughness, oil flow, whitening, fogging, scratches, scratches, pinholes, and spray marks. The countertops have cracks, missing edges, scald marks, and water seepage (color spots visible to the naked eye). The color difference of cabinets in the same batch ΔE>1.5 (CIE Lab standard), and the color of the joints is not coordinated (the difference is obvious at 0.5 meters). The wood grain direction or color is inconsistent at the joint of the splicing board. There are often various errors in the size, such as horizontal error, diagonal error, gap error between the door panel and the cabinet body, etc. These errors exceeding 2mm should be considered defective products.

2. Structural defects

Bathroom cabinet edge sealing and joints: edge sealing degumming, bulging, tearing (length ≥ 5mm), joint gap > 0.3mm or no edge sealing treatment. Corner joints are not aligned (misalignment ≥ 0.5mm), moisture content difference > 2%. Deformation of load-bearing and supporting parts, deformation of load-bearing parts (countertops, shelves) > 1mm/m, unstable installation of supporting feet (uneven force causes cabinet body to tilt). Movable parts and drawer rails make abnormal noises or get stuck after bearing weight, and the door hinges are too tight/loose (opening and closing force > 5N).

3. Functional defects

Bathroom cabinet waterproofing failure, the sealing gap between the countertop and the wall > 3mm, and the base cabinet is not waterproofed, resulting in board expansion. Hardware accessories: handles and slide rails are rusted or loose (torque test displacement > 0.5mm). Use hazards: conflict between cabinet doors and walls/shower rooms (opening angle < 90°), equipment pre-drilling deviation > 2mm.

4. Material defects

The defects of raw materials such as long-diameter dead knots, high moisture content, and delamination of artificial board substrates in wood lead to defects in bathroom cabinets, and they also do not meet the environmental formaldehyde detection standards.

For the above repairable defects, we divide the products into three categories: micro-defect products, one is a slight appearance defect that does not affect the structure and use function. After repair, it can be tested for quality as a genuine product, and the details of the defect repair are noted. For this type of repair, if the same batch of glaze is used for high-temperature reproduction, it will have almost no effect on the service life. The second type is structural and functional defects. Although this type of repair can meet the standards, the probability of secondary deformation or damage increases by about 20%. It is recommended to downgrade and sell at a discount. The third type is structural defects in materials and functional defects that cannot be repaired. Such products can only be crushed into powder and used as raw materials again. These products usually do not meet safety and environmental compliance requirements, so they can only be scrapped and cannot be sold. We strictly abide by quality inspections. On the premise of ensuring high production of high-quality products, we increase quality inspection links by improving production processes, improving repair processes, classifying products and informing customers, etc., to meet customer needs for products of different grades.
